Pregnant, Horny & Feelin' Guilty

According to the March Of Dimes foundation, some mommies-to-be balk at the idea of having sex with their partner until after the baby is born. Apparently a few common reasons pregnant women cite for abstaining from nookie are: fear of injuring the baby, fear of miscarriage, and fear that the unborn child will somehow "know" what Mommy is up to.

Okay I've got to ask: Has anyone out there ever worried while pregnant that their baby will think they're a ho for bopping Daddy? If so, spill the beans!

Hmmm, I've never been pregnant BUT now that I read this entry it would certainly make me think twice about "doing" it with the kid in the room. lol

IT NEVER EVEN CROSSED MY MIND THAT MY KIDS WOULD KNOW. I HOPE THEY DIDN'T!

Jan, that's why you have to buy a house where the layout is such that the kids' rooms are at the farthest possible point from the master bedroom :-P

Marcia, ditto that sentiment!! lol

It never occurred to me not to have sex--at any time--pregnant or not. Probably why I have four kids.

Actually, my kids grew up knowing that mom and dad had private time. And of course, the day came when they knew what private time meant.

I suppose that's a good thing. When my son (38 yrs old) read my books this spring, he still had a hard time with it. I asked "Where do you think you came from?"

"But you're my MOM!"

That thought never crossed my mind, I don't think. My hestitation with sex with the hubby was the fact that my body was changing and (even though it was my idea to get pregnant in the first place) I didn't want him to see those changes.

On another note, our daughter has walked in on us, thankfully not at a crutial moment, and scared the hubby. Was kinda hilarious until he startled her and she started crying. It was late at night.

Anny, that's too funny! I don't know if I'll ever feel comfie letting my kids read my books. They could be in their 70s and I'd still whimper at the thought *g*

Sandra, "body changes" was another common reason listed on the March of Dimes website.

I've always been chubby at best and fat at worst so being pregnant actually made me feel sexier. I suppose b/c I felt like I had a valid excuse to be fat then lol!! ;-)

I've never been pregnant either, but I do believe that the body is wise. If women don't want to have sex when they're in the mid to late stages of pregnancy, then they should pay attention to what their body is telling them. Maybe it just seems nicer to say, "I'm afraid the fetus will be grossed out," when we really mean "I don't feel like hot sex right now, darling."

I think the media have us convinced that we're supposed to be hot to trot day and night until we die, but the truth is, sometimes we just don't feel like it.

Susan, yeah there are times when we just don't want messed with. Sometimes sleep is a better reward than sex!

In terms of pregnancy, I never got horny in the first 2 trimesters... I was just TOO sleepy all the time. But the 3rd trimester? Lawdy, lawdy. I felt more animal than human. I can recall lying in bed crying because I wanted - needed - it so bad!! The shit part was me and the baby daddy had parted company in the 1st trimester so I had nobody to help me with my problem lol ;-)

Jan, gotcha! Then I guess my diatribe on the layout of houses was unnecessary lol

Wow, I've never heard of the third trimester hornies. Maybe that's why people say pregnant women glow!

I wasn't the one with the problem actually...a good percentage of the time I was pregnant I was horny as hell, but as soon as I hit baout the seventh month, my husband was completely freaked out. I was so desperate I went out and bought my first dildo...but it just ain't the same. Of course, the minute I'd given birth, he was all over me...and he had to suffer waiting a couple of months becuase I HURT! And I was completely and utterly uninterested! So all in all, the pain equaled out.

Tit for tat, Elaine ;-)
